Conference venue

All lectures, presentations, and poster sessions of the TeaP 2020 will take place in the central lecture hall complex (Carl-Zeiss-Straße 3) of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. It is located on the university campus (Ernst-Abbe-Platz) directly in Jena's city centre.


Travelling to Jena

By Train. There are two central train stations - "Jena Paradies" and "Jena West" - which are located within walking distance (7 to 10 minutes) to the city centre with the conference venue. When booking your train ticket (which you can do here), searching for "JENA" will result in connections to either one of the central train stations.

By Bus. The central bus station (ZOB) is located in front of the central train station "Jena Paradies". It is within walking distance to the city centre with the conference venue. To look for tickets and timetables, please visit the FlixBus website.

By Plane. The following airports have regular train connections to Jena: Erfurt-Weimar (ERF), Berlin Tegel (TXL), Berlin Schönefeld (SXF), Frankfurt am Main (FRA), Leipzig/Halle (LEJ), Munich (MUC), and Nuremberg (NUE).

By Car. Jena is situated near the intersection of two major motorways, the A9 Rostock-Munich, and the A4 Dresden-Eisenach-Frankfurt am Main.

Getting around town

By Tram and Bus. To take a look at the local transport network, as well as for timetables and prices, please visit https://www.nahverkehr-jena.de. The tram stop nearest to the conference venue is "Ernst-Abbe-Platz", which is located directly at the campus and is served by tram lines 5 and 35. Other stops that are located within walking distance (2-5 minutes) to the conference venue are "Johannisplatz", served by bus line 16, and "Stadtzentrum" (city centre) which is served by all local bus and tram lines. 

By Car. The conference venue is located in the city centre of Jena. The city centre is quite small so that everything is within walking distance. Also, the bigger part of the city centre is a pedestrian zone. It is therefore advisable to simply park the car and explore the city by foot. There are two big parking spots near the conference venue. The first one is at the "Eichplatz", next to the "neue mitte" shopping mall (marked by the big "Jentower"). By Taxi. There are usually several taxi cars waiting near the stations. To order a taxi, you can call +49 3641 458 888.

By Foot. Jena is a beautiful city where everything is marvellously close by. We strongly recommend to simply take a stroll around the city centre.
